2021 KACA-KOFICE Joint Conference Report

KACA and KOFICE (Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange) hosted a joint conference with the theme of K-Culture and Media Strategy. The three sessions were held virtually with approximately 90 attendees from the United States and South Korea. In the panel discussion session, two panelists, Seung-jun Yi (Film Director) and Bernie Cho (CEO, DFSB Kollective), were invited and discussed the film industry and K-Culture strategy. The session was moderated by Dr. Hye Seung Chung (Colorado State University). In the research session, four K-Culture-related papers selected through peer-reviewed competition were presented. Dr. Jiyoung Cha (San Francisco State University) presented a paper entitled “The Moderating Effect of Entrepreneurship Orientation on the Relationship between Conventional Quality Signals and Media Crowdfunding Success” and received the top paper award. Dr. Dal Yong Jin (Simon Fraser University) chaired the research session. In the grant session, the recipients of the KACA-KADPR research grant – Drs. Sangwon Lee (New Mexico State University) and Soo Young Bae (University of Massachusetts-Amherst), KACA-KADPR presented their awarded research. Dr. Hanna Park (Sun Moon University) chaired the session.
